Recent Chat With Affiliates.
Hi all i was recently having a chat with a few affiliates i know and we came on to a discussion about leads and the way we generate them, but what was more important about this whole discussion was the fact that leads are being stolen in front of your eyes, now i thought this was a bit of an joke, but after another few piped up and said the same i felt it should be written about. so what is this all about well it turns out that vendor’s are coming up with more and more ways of taking your sales away from you, this i found hard to believe and asked the question were is the proof.
The Tricks.
This is just a few of the tricks pointed out to me.
pre launch pages have you noticed that the video pre launch page with the list trap on the side of it well according to affiliates this is a scam by the vendor to steal a lead, harsh words you may think but it seems to be true,if someone signs up here that person now joins the vendor’s list and it is your traffic that sent it there and if that person did happen to buy after the pre launch it turns out that the sale is not credited to you because they are now on the vendor’s list and he is sending the link to them and there you go the sale is now the vendor’s. Now you may be asking is there any proof of this actual situation well it turns out that yes there is.We thought we had better put our theory to the test so we picked a few of the products that are using this type of so called sales page and sign up and see what the out come would be well shock horror yes indeed it is true. name and email address entered and confirmed and a few minutes later the first email from the vendor trying to sell the product and you follow the link and do you see the affiliate who sent you there in the first place getting credit for the sale no you will not. AFFILIATES BEWARE.
Another Scam.
Limited memberships again sales page is taken down and instead you get a notice asking you to submit your name and email address and when a spot becomes available you will be notified this test took a bit longer possibly because the vendor felt it would be a bit obvious if a spot became available straight away but 2 days later email with link and again no affiliate credited with the sale. we are still testing the whole theory on the cheating vendor’s and have tried to contact some but as of yet no response so as time goes on myself and my affiliate friends will be working in the background to catch them out we will after checking legalities get to the stage that a name and shame list will be published but until then beware of the various scams that people are up to.
